Karen Zorn, DiHom, EFT-ADV
Many people my age (60's) are planning retirement. So, what is it that makes me feel I’m just embarking on the second half of my life’s work? I suppose it is an inner vision: that of this world as a Peaceful Playground, with humans especially evolving by making use of some very efficient tools for change that only recently have been gifted us. Now that I am “empty nested”, my own four children grown and only requesting my care occasionally, I feel freed to expand into a greater world, equipped with all the learning and tools I have gathered over this lifetime. And because the tools I use the most in my counselling and coaching were not available to me during my parenting years, I feel all the more compelled to educate and share the knowledge and skills I now have with this current generation of children, parents and others who care for children, as these new tools, such as EFTtm and Theta Healingtm have only come through in the last 10 years or so. In terms of releasing our own woundings from the past so as to care for our children from a more loving and neutral emotional space, I am finding such methods to be simple and effective. I am also finding that young children take to EFT like ducks to water, as if they have come to transform the planet, and they know it! The “credentials”: a bachelor’s in fine arts from UC Berkeley in 1967, an elementary teaching credential from Sonoma State in Ca. in 1968; 2 years of K-1 teaching experience, many years of directing nursery schools, both in Calif and Colorado, a Diploma in Homeopathy 1996 from the British Institute (after studying on my own for 20years), and my greatest achievement of all(what I consider my PhD) raising 4 totally unique human beings, my one daughter and three sons, over 2 generations, from 1970-2005. Having walked the parenting walk with dedication and passion, always with the goal of supporting each child in his or her own unique unfolding, I find that I now have some objectivity, some perspective and definitely some tools that can be immensely supportive to younger adults engaged in the parenting and education of young people. I firmly believe we cannot bring peace to this planet without first finding peace with in ourselves. And it is by using an array of tools for clearing our own emotional mine fields that we can teach this generation that such inner peace is possible. My approach to working with others is non judgmental and supportive. I understand that most of us are literally the “walking wounded”, and I admire the courage it takes to step forward and ask for help. |
